The End

Today was the last day of the ben and jerry's challenge!

Overall we decided that the Ben and Jerry's flavors were fun and really connected with kids, considering all of the fun names and ingredients. This also had to do with the fact that Ben and Jerry were hippies. We personally chose our favorite flavors by how they tasted to us, and how the titles caught our eye.

It was a really fun experience, and even though we almost didn't find one of the flavors (mission to marzipan) we were really determined to finish the challenge. We went to many places just to find that they didn't carry the flavor, but we kept looking, and it was totally worth it.

We just wanted to thank everyone who viewed our blog, everyone who became a follower, and everyone who sponsored ice cream flavors. We also wanted to thank our friends, family, and teachers for being so supportive.

Thanks!!!

"When Your Dreaming With A Broken Heart" - John Mayer

This is it! Chunky Monkey ice cream is banana ice cream with chocolate chips and walnuts. This ice cream has a special meaning to us, because we eat it whenever we are upset. This sentimental value, is why we saved it for last. It is our all time favorite, and we absolutely love it. The ice cream makes you feel better when you are sad, so no matter what has happened the ice cream never fails to put a smile on your face. Each bite is amazing, and even if you don't love bananas (like Brooke) everything blends together so well. It is truly delicious. For all of this, it 100% deserves a 10. We are sad to announce that it is our last ice cream but it really is "the best of what's around!"

Mission to Whole Foods

Mission to Marzipan ice cream is sweet cream ice cream with almond cookie chunks and a marzipan swirl. We would just like all of you to know, that getting this ice cream was extremely difficult. It is relatively new, and is sold almost no where. We called multiple places, and visited multiple places before finding this ice cream. Well, was it worth all of it's trouble? Yes and no. Yes, because of course it was worth it to complete the challenge. No, however, because the ice cream itself was not amazing. It was at first overwhelming, and as Frannie Oppenheimer said, "you have to get used to it, but once you do she really liked it." Frannie believes it deserves an eight. We however, did not give it as much of a chance, and don't think the ice cream is that good. After the first bite, we were completely turned off. Overall, if you give it a chance it "gets better."

Nothin' Like A Campfire

S'mores ice cream is chocolate ice cream with fudge chunks, toasted marshmallows, and a graham cracker swirl. This ice cream was really good. Sydney Goldberger sponsored it, and she loved it. Emily said, "the graham crackers would have been gross and soggy, however they were not as bad as I thought. Also, the marshmallows looked unappealing but they tasted good." Brooke totally agrees. However, the ice cream does not resemble s'mores very well. Overall, the ice cream sounds and looks a lot worse than it tastes - you should give it a try! "Don't think twice it's alright!"

VANILLA BABY!

Chocolate ice cream is chocolate fair trade ice cream. Man, it was yucky. We both agree that this flavor was disgusting. It was unappetizing, and not even decent. We can both deal with chocolate based ice cream with stuff in it but this was gross. "I've had chocolate ice cream before, even though i don't like it, but this was simply terrible" claims Brooke. Emily truly just despised it. We couldn't wait till it was time to "say goodbye!"

Turtle Soup is vanilla ice cream with fudge and carmel cashews and a carmel swirl. Leah Solomon thought that, "it was a good blend of textures. There was crunchy nuts, a soft swirl, and the consistency of the ice cream." In keeping with that, Brooke thought it was amazing. "The nuts tasted great, and i loved the carmel swirl." Emily however thought that the ice cream was "bland, and there is really nothing special about it." Overall, it was a good flavor and left us with "positive vibrations."

How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You

Hannah Teter's Maple Blondie ice cream is maple ice cream with blondie chunks and a maple carmel swirl. Emily, and many other people found the ice cream to be delicious. Natalie thought that, "it was amazing but the carmel swirls made it too sweet." Audrey, "loved it!" and Emily "enjoyed it" and said she "would definitely buy it at home." So this sugary blend, went over well with most people however many people did acknowledge that it was too sweet. Emily believes that it deserves an 8. However, Brooke thought it was only decent. According to her, the first bite was overwhelmingly sweet and the blondie chunks were disgusting. "I literally avoided them when trying to eat the ice cream." But admittedly, she does not like blondies. Brooke thinks the ice cream deserves a 5. Democracy rules, this ice cream gave us "positive vibrations!"

Swirl n Nuts

Chocolate Macadamia Ice Cream is chocolate and vanilla ice creams with fudge covered macadamia nuts. Many people liked the swirl of ice creams even though it was basic, while they also felt that the fudge covered macadamia nuts were a little awkward tasting but not that bad. Caitlin Merrell was very enthusiastic about the ice cream while many people were not, and she loved it. Overall, this would not be a number one seller according to the many people that tasted it, however, “don’t think twice it’s alright”.

"Magic" Brownies

Magic Brownies ice cream is black raspberry ice cream blended with sweet cream ice cream and brownie chunks. If ten people had it, two people liked it. Legitimately. According to Gabrielle Bausano, "i like black raspberry ice cream, usually, but this is not good." Also, Scott Wade declared "this belongs in the category of brussels sprout ice cream!" We definitely agree. However the brownie chunks were really good, just not the surrounding ice cream. Cora Vasserman, who sponsored the ice cream, and we are almost sure that is the only reason she liked it, wanted to make sure that everyone knew she enjoyed it, as well as Audrey Ellen. They both believe that it deserves a ten. However, the yucky blend of ice cream is really just far from it. It can only "get better."

Phish food ice cream is chocolate ice cream with caramel and marshmallow swirl, with chocolate phish chunks. While it is not necessarily a flavor we would purchase, it was delicious. For the people who do not love marshmallows, they still enjoyed this flavor. And even those, like ourselves, who prefer vanilla were still wowed. While this is not a favorite, considering, it was very good. Obviously, we would have preferred it be vanilla based... but it was still pretty good. Overall, we were left with "postive vibrations!"

Wake Up San Francisco! (Triple 9)

Coffee Heath Bar Crunch is coffee ice cream with chunks of heath bar. This was a good wake up call, however many people felt that the coffee ice cream was a little too strong for their taste, especially Natalie Burlant. Brooke Yalof on the other hand thought that the ice cream was amazing and it deserved a 10, but the majority thought that it deserved an 8 or a 9. When you got a bite without the heath bar the ice cream was definitely refreshing and delicious, especially if you like coffee, but when you got a bite with the heath bar it was even better. If you don't like coffee give vanilla heath bar crunch a try. This ice cream was totally "knockin' on heavens door".

Triple Ten

Triple Carmel Chunk is carmel ice cream with a carmel swirl and chocolate covered carmel pieces. This is an amazing ice cream flavor, especially because we love carmel so much. Olivia Sahlman thought that the "chocolate covered carmel pieces were fantastic," however based on appearance she thought they were Reese's. Emily thought "this was the best ice cream i have ever had in my life!" It exceeded all expectations, and the carmel swirl melted in your mouth. Brooke said, "this ice cream is delicious!" Chocolate Fudge Brownie is chocolate ice cream with fudge brownie pieces. This ice cream was very good, and while it was all chocolate and we are not the biggest fans we still liked it. The fudge brownie pieces were killer, and there were enough so that every bite tasted like them. Emily thought that, "so many Ben and Jerry's chocolate ice cream flavors convinced me to like chocolate, but this one did not as much." However, brooke found the ice cream to be pretty good. Just Another Cheesecake...

Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream is strawberry cheesecake ice cream with strawberry chunks and graham cracker pieces. When eating the ice cream, it tastes fine - just like strawberry ice cream, but a little creamier. However, the after taste was atrocious. We were chugging orange juice to get the taste out of our mouthes. Also, similarly to the cheesecake brownie flavor, we don't like cheese - so our mindset was not as positive as it could have been. We couldn't wait to "say goodbye" to this ice cream.

"Imagine All The People Living For Today" - John Lennon

Imagine Whirled Peace (dedicated to John Lennon *r.i.p*, woo!) is sweet cream and carmel ice cream swirled, and fudge peace sign chunks and toffee cookie pieces. Natalie Burlant likes the ice cream but thinks that it is very grainy, similar to Fossil Fuel which is why we are suspecting that the deli freezes it weirdly. (The graininess of Ben and Jerry's ice cream has never bothered us before.) That being said, we have had this flavor multiple times before and loved it. It has been so delicious in the past, so we are giving our dear friends Ben and Jerry the benefit of the doubt. Based on the ice cream we ate today, it's probably a seven. But based on previous experiences, it is leaning more toward a nine. So, the ice cream left us "feelin' groovy."

"D-i-n-o-s-a you are a dinosaur" - Kesha

Fossil Fuel Ice Cream is sweet cream ice cream with fudge chunks, swirls, dinosaur chocolate chips and cookie bites. Sydney Goldberger "loved" this ice cream and believes it "deserves a 10!" While we agree the ice cream was very good, the texture was grainy. We recently tried another ice cream, which was from the same deli, so there is a chance that they freeze their ice cream strangely - effecting the texture. However, the ice cream was good. The chocolate dinosaurs did not appeal to Emily, and Brooke did not love the cookie pieces. Overall, it was a good ice cream but not one that we would keep in the freezer. It did send us "positive vibrations!"

Cherry Garcia is cherry ice cream with chocolate chips. The name of this ice cream is so cool, and Jerry Garcia is awesome. But the ice cream, was hardly delicious. Literally, one bite was vile. We were expecting the grossness though, which was good. And the vanilla ice cream helped the "medicine go down!" we strongly do not recommend this, even though, bizarrely, it is Ben and Jerry's number one flavor. YUCKKKKKKKK. "HELP!"

New York Super Fudge Chunk is chocolate ice cream with white and dark fudge pieces and various nuts: walnuts, pecans and chocolate covered almonds. This ice cream was fine. Minty AMAZINGness

Mint Chocolate Cookie is amazing ice cream. It is a mix of mint ice cream with oreo-cookie like bites. Despite the fact that it is so delicious, it is a common flavor, and not as outrageous as many of the other Ben and Jerry's flavor. The ice cream was covered with cookies, "even though there aren't a lot of big chunks of cookie, there are little pieces throughout the entire ice cream" - Natalie Burlant. This ice cream is so good. "It is definitely one of my favorites, but I wish the ice cream was green" - Brooke Yalof. Three people finished the whole pint, if that says anything. Brownie batter is brownie batter ice cream with a brownie batter swirl. It was amazing. It tastes like brownie batter. We don't love chocolate ice cream, but this is completely different. It was sick, and so delicious. Between six people the ice cream was finished. Charlotte Klein "really liked it. It wasn't chocolatey enough, I liked the texture though, it was really good and creamy." While the ice cream may not have been chocolatey enough for her, she still loved it. Ross Mechanic thought the ice cream was "yummy" as did Cooper Pillot. And Natalie Burlant "really liked the ice cream flavor but it was really rich." Vanilla HEATH Bar Crunch (vanilla ice cream with heath bar chunks) is amazing. Almost every bite has the heath bar chunks in it, which is the main reason each taste is so yummy. However, some chunks were too small and some were too big making them either hard to taste or hard to scoop. And in the case that your spoonful lacked a chunk the vanilla ice cream was dull. The thick peanut butter ice cream was yummy, however because there were no swirls, chunkless bites were not as amazing. And although the chunks were the best part, it was hard to scoop them out of the container because they were so big. This ice cream was by far, the best we've had yet. We highly recommend it. Especially if you LOVE peanut butter. This ice cream left us "feelin groovy!"

A Little Cheesy

Two down and thirty-nine to go. The second ice cream flavor we tried was Cheesecake Brownie. It is cheesecake ice cream with cheesecake brownie chunks. This ice cream was interesting, and as Brooke quoted, "it was psychological thing for us because we don't like cheese so it throws us off". It was different and had a little bit of an after taste, but if you like cream cheese then we recommend trying it. Emily said "it's ice cream so it can't be that bad", and once you get past the fact that there is cheese in it this is true. Overall, this is not one of our favorites but it is definitely worth a try. We think this ice cream is "funny the way it is!"

The First Competitor

One down and forty to go. The first ice cream we tried was Crème Brûlée. Crème Brûlée ice cream is "sweet custard ice cream with a caramelized sugar swirl." The ice cream was sweet at first, and had a rich after taste. And while the caramelized sugar swirls were not visible, they were easy to taste. The ice cream, due to the sweet custard base, was very thick. Overall, Ben and Jerry captured the crème brûlée essence really well, in the delicious ice cream. We got "positive vibrations" from this ice cream!
